What I Was Looking For In This Ball:
This is the second release in DV8's high performance Hell Raiser line and I was ready to get out and test the newest product from the best company out there. This ball is suppose to be 6-12 boards stronger than the original Hell Raiser. That had me thinking this ball is a beast from another world. I could open up any lane condition and let it fly..
Since this ball is provides a substantial hook, the pin was drilled out for the placement near the PAP. I was thinking I could play the lanes anywhere on a house shot depending on release and speed.
What I Ended Up With:
The new Hell Raiser Revenge raises the bar for total hook potential to an all new level. I know reviewers say it a lot with new high performance balls but this may be the most aggressive ball ever. People on a few leagues I participate in said the others look like glorified house balls.
The ball motion was border line out of control for me. This ball got through the heads of the lane great for the first game I threw it. The HRR showed great hold and rebounded nicely if you miss right. I wouldn't suggest missing left with this ball because it will hook big time! Now I was throwing this ball on a shot that is known to not have heavy oil but I wanted to see what it would do with that condition. I did this just to show you what may happen when this ball gets in light oil. It was leave you a lot of 10 pins (righty) or 7 pins (lefty) because this ball isn't designed to handle light oil. On the other side if you can figure out how to handle the release with this ball you can throw in on ice and it would strike. After a game I started drilling the pocket with messengers flying at my 7 pin. It was like the DV8 was sending a message for the pin to back down! Though, would suggest you use this ball a medium to heavy house shots or long shots. It will get back in any lane condition. On nights that are light I would suggest using a DV8 misfit for those nights!
Overall the statement of 6-12 boards stronger was very accurate. I believe I had this ball about 7 boards stronger then the original Hell Raiser. DV8 is coming out with amazing balls and the Hell Raiser Revenge tops them all! I would suggest to anyone to have this ball in your arsenal and watching the frames start filling with Strikes! Good luck and good bowling!!
