Just because a bowling ball is designed for heavy oil, it doesn't mean that it will hook a lot. It only means that it will absorb oil quickly and respond to friction sooner than a ball designed for light oil. Bowling balls are designed with cover stocks that have High, Med., and Low oil absorption rates. Using the wrong cover stock, on the wrong lane condition, will result in the wrong ball reaction.
